Luxury Holiday Cottage in IrelandThe luxury self catering holiday cottage is set on just under an acre. The completely private rear garden overlooks the sea, only about 100m away. A large cedar wood deck was constructed which incorporates the elevated hot tub to maximise the stunning views. The decking is ideal for holiday barbeques (a hardwood furniture set, sun loungers and a gas barbeque are provided). The front courtyard also has its charms with wild pink roses and lilies growing abundantly. The garden contains a swing set and is entirely fenced front and rear, which gives peace of mind for family holidays. The main dwellinghouse is a traditional Irish farm cottage built in 1782. A complete renovation of the cottage was undertaken in 2005 to the highest of specifications while still retaining the original character of the premises. To contrast this a superb modern glass-fronted kitchen extension was constructed to the rear to make the most of the panoramic sea views. Wireless broadband Internet access, satellite TV, DVD and a PlayStation are additional modern conveniences provided in the cottage. This luxury holiday cottage has been fitted out and furnished to the highest of standards from the black oak floors downstairs to the Laura Ashley curtains in the bedrooms upstairs and the spotlights throughout. Holidays in CorkThe cottage is just a short drive from the West Cork towns of Skibbereen, Baltimore and Castletownshend; where you will find some of Ireland's best gourmet restaurants, food shops, art galleries, craft shops and historical sites. There is a wide range of recreational activities available throughout West Cork: most water sports, whale watching, walking, cycling, angling, horse riding and garden tours, to name a few. After a busy day, stop in to one of the many friendly pubs for a drink, and maybe join in on a traditional music session. The cottage is only an hour from Cork City; a main transportation hub for air, rail and ferry travel from the UK and mainland Europe. Cork is the Second City of Ireland, with a wide range of more urban conveniences. One of Ireland's most popular tourist attractions, the Blarney Stone, is a short sidetrip, just north of Cork City.
